The present invention relates to a driving apparatus for a light emitting diode which does not adopt a separate external capacitor by controlling the switching of a power conversion circuit based on the switching period of the power conversion circuit and the demagnetization time of the switching period. Suggested is the driving apparatus for the light emitting diode which includes a power conversion unit which supplies driving power to at least one light emitting diode by switching input power and a driving control unit which controls the power supply of the power conversion unit based on the switching period of the power conversion unit and the demagnetization time of the switching period.
