PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontally multi-articulated robot having a plurality of work axes freed from being restricted in a work content, while preventing the interactions between work axes, thereby to improve the productivity. ! SOLUTION: A horizontally multi-articulated robot comprises: a first arm 9 supported rotatably by a support plate 6; and a second arm 13 supported rotatably on a second axis of rotation 14 by the first arm 9. Further comprised are: a work shaft 22 supported vertically movably and rotatably on a plurality of workplaces 13A spaced in the rotational direction in the second arm 13; a lifting device 24 for moving the work shaft 22 vertically; and a rotation device 23 for rotating the work shaft 22 on a vertical axial line. !
