<p>The present invention is related to a process for isolating eudesmane sesquiterpene 4a-cinnamoiloxy-1ß, 3a-dihydroxyeudesm-7, 8-eno (4CDE), which is an active principle with different biological activities of pharmacological interest. The isolation of the compound is achieved by the obtention of an hexane extract resulting from the aerial parts of the Verbesina persicifolia DC species. The isolation process of the present invention reduces costs and time used for obtaining the sesquiterpene 4CDE, which confers advantages for the development of a drug used as a treatment for diseases such as diabetes mellitus type 2, cancer, obesity and also acting as an anti-inflammatory.</p> |
