The invention relates to facility maintenance, where data structures relating to operational units of the facility and to maintenance tasks are formed to facilitate maintenance operations. The maintenance data may comprise information of a maintenance time of the operational unit, and detail information on the operational unit. The maintenance information and information on the operational units are displayed to the user. When a user selects information of the maintenance task, a limited rendering of a panoramic picture (or a view of a 3D picture) of the facility is created and shown. Documents e.g. in a document storage may also be linked to the 3D or panoramic picture so that the documents can be readily retrieved to viewing. For this purpose, a data structure for linking the documents and the 3D panoramic picture is created, and a control can be shown on the panoramic image to access the documents.
