The objective of the present invention is to provide a novel copolymer which has excellent pigment dispersing ability in particular a novel copolymer which can be used as a pigment dispersant that enables a color filter to achieve higher contrast and higher luminance of green pixels. A novel copolymer of the present invention contains a block chain (A) that comprises a repeating unit having a tertiary amino group and a block chain (B) that comprises a repeating unit represented by formula (I) (wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a C C alkyl group; each of R and R independently represents a hydrogen atom or a C C alkyl group; Q represents an oxygen containing saturated heterocyclic group which may have an alkyl group as a substituent or a C C alkenyl group; and n represents an integer of 0 6) and has an amine number of 80 250 mgKOH/g (inclusive). |
