A self-heating catalyst is installed inside a converter in multi-stage. The self-heating catalyst comprises: a heating element generating heat by a power supply; a porous net structure where a catalyst is coated on the outside of the heating element. The present invention relates to a purification apparatus having a self-heating catalyst and a method for manufacturing a self-heating catalyst enabling the heating element to rapidly reach the temperature where the catalyst is activated.
