PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual recognition support device capable of outputting an azimuth as an observation target by following a dynamic change similarly with the case where the azimuth is fixed even in an optical apparatus carried by a hand for observation and capable of being grasped without being affected by an error due to accumulation.SOLUTION: A visual recognition support device includes: an optical apparatus for observing a surrounding environment; apparatus azimuth detection means for detecting an apparatus azimuth of the optical apparatus; reset means for resetting the apparatus azimuth; basic azimuth information acquisition means for acquiring basic azimuth information of the optical apparatus at the time of resetting; azimuth calculation means for calculating the azimuth of the observation target based on the apparatus azimuth as an angle detected as displacement data from the reference position and the basic azimuth information with the basic azimuth of the optical apparatus at the time of resetting as a reference position; observation object information acquisition means for acquiring information regarding the observation object based on the azimuth of the observation target; projection means for displaying information regarding the observation object; and display selection means for selecting information regarding the observation object displayed when a plurality of observation objects exists.
