PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of transmitting streaming HDR image data so as to perform suitable image display even in an HDR adaptive machine or an HDR non-adaptive machine, and capable of accurately restoring the HDR image data while using base image data and differential data.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: generation means for generating, on the basis of input image data, the base image data in which at least either a dynamic range or a color gamut is narrower than that of the input image data, and the differential data to be used for enlargement processing for enlarging at least either the dynamic range or the color gamut of image data; addition means which performs addition processing for adding correspondence information representing a correspondence of the base image data and the differential data to at least either the base image data or the differential data; and output means for individually outputting the base image data and the differential data after the addition processing is performed thereon. |
