The method involves capturing a reference image by an image capture device i.e. digital camera, where the image is captured consecutively at a predetermined frequency by utilizing the image capture device. A consecutive image is subtracted from the reference image to obtain a difference image. A copy of the consecutive image is stored as another reference image. A presence detection signal is emitted when number of pixels above a predetermined threshold has a value greater or equal to a reference value in the difference image. The steps are repeated for consecutive images. An independent claim is also included for a home automation system. |
