[Classes 82 (ii) and 86] Apparatus for froth-production in liquids comprises a liquid container 11, a driving shaft 14 depending downwardly into the container, an impeller therein having upper and lower plates 15, 17 concentric with the shaft and connected together by guide vanes 18, the spaces between the vanes forming passages which extend between the plates toward their periphery, and an air tank 19 which surrounds and rotates with the shaft, 'communicates at its lower end with the passages and extends upwardly to a point above the liquid level of the container. Baffles 21 are secured in the container. Additional vanes 20 prevent sediment settling beneath the impeller. An outlet 26 delivers to a similar cell or over a weir 25 to an ore-pulp discharge in the case of apparatus for froth-flotation. Specification 526,692 is referred to. |
