<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent crimpable polyester conjugate fiber that when formed into a nonwoven fabric, can impart not only excellent texture but also sufficient stretchability and stretch recovery to the nonwoven fabric.SOLUTION: The latent crimpable polyester conjugate fiber is a conjugate fiber produced by conjugating (A) a copolymerized polyethylene terephthalate produced by copolymerizing ethylene terephthalate with 1-5 mol% of 2,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]sulfone and 9-15 mol% of isophthalic acid and (B) a polyethylene terephthalate capable of copolymerizing with less than 0.5 mol% of 2,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]sulfone and/or less than 1 mol% of isophthalic acid, side by side. The number of crimps which exhibit during no-load heat treatment at 180°C is 50/25 mm or more and the dry heat dimensional change rate by heat treatment at 180°C is 15% or less.</p> |
