[Classes 39 (ii), 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] Roads are illuminated by light sources combined with reflectors or embodied in lamps of such a character that in certain defined zones the average illumination density on the side of the road remote from a light source and due to that source is at least twice that on the nearer side. The zones in question are not less than 5 degrees wide and extend along the road between two planes, one of which is inclined at least 30 degrees to the transverse plane across the road from the source and the other is inclined at least 60 degrees to the same plane. Appropriate reflectors and lamps are described and defined. |
