A device and method are provided for enabling notes to be taken on an electronic device. The method may comprise displaying a user interface portion, i.e. the notes taking program, with a first user interface of an application after detecting a first input. Content is enabled to be associated with the user interface portion and the user interface portion is displayed with a second user interface of the an application, which could the same or a different application as that of the first user interface, after detecting a second input. The user interface portion displayed after the second input includes the content that was associated with the user interface portion while the user interface portion was displayed with the first application user interface. |
