The method involves introducing biomass into a condensation tank (2) and conveying the biomass from the condensation tank (2) in a mash tank (10). The mash is moved from the mash container (10) in a drainage device (11, 12) and drained. The drained mash is moved into a dryer (14) and dried. The dryer exhaust air is provided to heat the mass and condensation in the exhaust air is accompanied with substances in the condensation tank (2) with freshly fed biomass is contacted.
