[Class 4] In an aircraft wing having a flap which is partially housed in a correspondingly shaped recess in the wing and mounted to be movable on an arc forming a continuation of the upper surface of the wing, the continuity of the upper surface of the wing being preserved in all positions of the flap as described in Specification 443,516, the flap is provided with one or more slots so located as to come into operation only when the flap is moved from the normal position. As shown the flap 6 has slots 7, 8 the upper openings 71, 81 of which are successively uncovered as the flap is projected. The slot 8 may be uncovered only when the flap reaches its extreme position, that is, for landing.</p> |
