PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a fuel cell while maximizing the power supply performance of the fuel cell.SOLUTION: A solid electrolyte fuel battery 1 comprises: a fuel cell module 2 having a solid electrolyte fuel cell 16; fuel supply means 38; oxidant gas supply means 45; voltage value detection means 126 for detecting a voltage value generated by the fuel cell module 2; current value detection means 126 for detecting an output current value by the fuel cell module 2; and control means 110 for controlling a fuel supply amount. The control means 110 performs current limiting control to control the output power of the fuel cell module 2 so that the output current value does not exceed an upper-limit current value. The control means 110 also determines the deterioration of the fuel cell module 2. Based on the determination on deterioration, the control means 110 carries out control to cope with the deterioration by the increase correction of the fuel supply amount such that the value of generated voltage which has been reduced by the deterioration can be recovered. |
