For obtaining of a highly eye-catching finish, and providing protection to an item (3), in particular made of wood, using olive stones. It comprises: applying adhesive to the item (3), spraying clean, crushed olive stones on the adhesive, so as to affix the olive stones to the item (3), allowing the adhesive to dry or drying it forcibly, and optionally sanding the olive stones in order to generate a smooth surface. It may further comprise preparatory stages, such as: washing, sanding and/or polishing, painting and varnishing the item (3) prior to applying of the adhesive; it may also further include finishing operations performed after the drying of the adhesive, e.g. sanding or polishing the olive stones; painting at least part of the olive stones and/or of the areas of the item (3) not coated with olive stones; engraving, and varnishing/lacquering the item (3). |
