An elevator rope for suspending a car of an elevator apparatus has a core rope and a second strand layer. The core rope has a plurality of first strands laid together with each other. Each of the first strands has a plurality of steel first wires laid together with each other, and a first strand coating body made of a resin coated on an outer periphery.
