<p>A cattle crush comprising a device for assisting the forward movement of livestock, in particular to move the animal forward towards the headgate of a crush so that an animal handler is able to administer a treatment to the animal. The device comprises an elongate rail 2, at least one support bracket 3, at least one horizontal bar 4 and a movement facilitating device 5. The horizontal bar passes through the support bracket across the passageway of the crush and is slidable along the elongate rail under the control of the movement facilitating device. The movement facilitating device may be a manual or powered device, examples including a puller or a ratchet system. The device can be used in conjunction with a conventional cattle crushes and prevents the cattle from backing up in the crush.</p> |
