Transformer with laminated coil

The transformer (100) has a coil shell (110) provided with a central aperture for enclosing a central limb of a magnetic core (103). The coil shell comprises multiple support surfaces for retaining a winding and multiple winding chambers for retaining another winding. Two insulation caps (108, 107) are attached at two coil shell sides of the coil shell, respectively. Two terminal assemblies (106, 105) are attached at the two coil shell sides of the coil shell and electrically connected with two windings, respectively. Recesses of the caps are filled with capping material (102). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a transformer.
