The present invention relates to a connector for implementing a high transmission of a high-speed signal by reducing a transmission path and an electrical influence from an adjacent contact. A second housing is mounted on a first housing arranged on a circuit board for receiving a counterpart connector to move in a moving direction which is orthogonal to the receiving direction of the counterpart connector. Each contact includes a contact part in contact with the counterpart contact of the counterpart connector, a connection part which is connected to the circuit board, and a linking part which connects the contact part and the connection part and is elastically deformed. The first and second housings maintain the contact part and the connection part, respectively. The dimension A of the linking part in the receiving direction and the dimension B of the linking part in forward and backward directions orthogonal to both directions of the receiving direction and the arrangement direction of the contact are set to e.g. A>B.
