PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the device capable of improving display qualities.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device comprises the steps of: manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel; subjecting the panel to ageing treatment by keeping such a condition that an electric field is formed between a pixel electrode and a common electrode in the entire pixels of an active area; detecting an initial alignment direction of a liquid crystal molecule while no electric field is formed between the pixel electrode and the common electrode in the entire pixels of the active area; disposing a first polarizing plate on an outer surface of a first substrate while a first absorption axis is positioned in a direction parallel or orthogonal to the detected initial alignment direction; and also disposing a second polarizing plate on an outer surface of a second substrate while a second absorption axis is positioned in a cross-Nicol positional relation with the first absorption axis. |
