<p>A cable support apparatus has one or more supporting arms 2 extending from a main body 1. The main body has means to clamp the main body in use to a vertical hanger 4 of a suspended ceiling such that the or each supporting arm extends perpendicularly from the main body. The apparatus will hold cables in place in the event of a fire, even if the ceiling collapses. The main body may consist of two metallic plates (7, 8, Fig 3) with layers between them of a heat resistant ceramic and two layers of a foil lined or intumescent coated glass cloth, all held together by bolts 13. Two L-shaped arms can each be formed from a single rod 3, welded to the main body.</p> |
