The present invention concerns a process of carbonylation of poly-unsaturated diene with high selectivity for the preparation of a &bgr;,γ-unsaturated carboxylic acid or ester in the presence of water or alcohol and catalyzed by [PdCl2P2] complex wherein P2 is two mono or one bidendate phosphine ligand.
