<p>The present invention relates to a cutting insert provided to efficiently prevent the occurrence of flow chips or long chips and effectively strengthen a chip breaking operation, by comprising a chip breaker in a bent form for a cut chip to be sheared during a cutting process of a railway wheel. The cutting insert comprises: a lower surface having a mounting hole to be fastened to one front end of a cutting tool coupled on a tool holder for cutting equipment; an upper surface having a chip breaker which protrudes from an upper portion of the cutting insert, and whose four sides have trapezoidal-shaped inclined planes; a side part which mutually connects the upper surface and the lower surface, and whose edge portion has a gradual curved surface; and a cutting edge part formed in a position where an upper end of the side part and the upper surface meet. The chip breaker includes a stepped part which is formed on an inclined plane arranged in response to the cutting direction of a workpiece, and is bent inward so that a cut chip of the workpiece can be sheared.</p> |
