PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material having high recording characteristics for an optical character (or a mark) reading device having a reading wavelength range in a near-infrared region, being excellent in light resistance and plasticizer resistance of a recording section, and being excellent in whiteness.SOLUTION: A thermal recording material is provided with a thermal recording layer including a leuco dye and a coloring agent on a support body. The thermal recording layer has a multilayer structure including at least a first thermal recording layer and a second thermal recording layer formed on the first thermal recording layer. The first thermal recording layer includes a leuco dye having absorption characteristics in the near-infrared region. The second thermal recording layer includes a leuco dye having no absorption characteristics in the near-infrared region. At least one layer of the layers of the thermal recording layer includes an aromatic secondary amine-based antioxidant. |
