The band power of each of eight bands of 300-1000 Hz, which are bands reflecting the respiratory flow rate, and three bands of 1300-1500 Hz, which are bands reflecting specific changes in the body, is calculated on the basis of the biometric sound obtained at one point on the chest. The average of the calculated band power of the bands reflecting the respiratory flow rate is taken, and the respiratory-flow-rate-reflecting power is calculated. The average of the calculated band power of the bands reflecting specific changes in the body is also taken, and the specific-changes-reflecting power is calculated. The reference power is determined from the linear sum of the calculated respiratory-flow-rate-reflecting power and the specific-changes-reflecting power. The difference between the predicted value corresponding to the reference power of each band and the band power is calculated as the corrected power, and at least one index value is calculated on the basis of the corrected power. The reference power may be calculated as the average of 200-1500 Hz. |
