The present invention suggests an apparatus and a method for recovering a file in a linux file system, which recover a file by extracting file segments stored in a space dynamically allocated by a predetermined rule depending on the presence of the dynamically allocated space. The apparatus includes: a dynamic space presence determination unit which determines whether or not the dynamically allocated space for storing the file is present; a file fragment extraction unit which extracts first file fragments from a static allocation space when there is no dynamically allocated space and second file fragments in order based on storage order information of the second file fragments stored in the dynamically allocated space; and a file recovery unit which recovers the file by coupling the first file fragments and the second file fragments.
