A fragmentation channelizer has a transmitter channelizing filter bank that fragments a continuous spectral span of a signal input into discrete spectral channels. The discrete spectral channels coincide with available bandwidth segments of a communications channel. A receiver has a receiver filter bank that inputs the discrete spectral channels after transmission over the communications channel and de-fragments the discrete spectral channels into a reconstructed continuous spectral span of the signal input so as to generate a signal output corresponding to the signal input. |

an input time series; a transmitter filter bank that fragments a continuous spectral span of the input time series into a plurality of fragmented spectral bands; the fragmented spectral bands coinciding in frequency with available bandwidth segments of a communications channel; a receiver filter bank that inputs the fragmented spectral bands after transmission over the communications channel; the receiver filter bank de-fragments the fragmented spectral bands into a reconstructed continuous spectral span of the signal input so as to generate an output time series corresponding to the input time series; and the transmitter filter bank comprises a transmitter analysis channelizer that decomposes the input time series into fragmented spectral bands. |
