1. A method, comprising:
operating an adaptive system that is part of a feedback management system of a hearing prosthesis with the hearing prosthesis at a set functional parameter; determining one or more feedback path parameters of the hearing prosthesis based on the operation of the adaptive system of the hearing prosthesis; decreasing an adaptive filter length of the adaptive system from a previous adaptive filter length previously used during operation of the adaptive system; operating the adaptive system of the feedback management system of the hearing prosthesis with the decreased adaptive filter length; and adjusting the functional parameter of the hearing prosthesis from a previous setting to a new setting based on the operation of the adaptive system with the decreased adaptive filter length; and wherein the functional parameter of the hearing prosthesis is a gain margin of the hearing prosthesis.
