1. A method comprising:
maintaining, in a management module in a first storage server node of a plurality of storage server nodes of a clustered network storage system, a record of a number of job credits of a data module in the clustered network storage system, the number of job credits computed by the management module as a function of available resources of the data module, the job credits indicating a capability of the data module to accept one or more jobs, the management module being one of a plurality of management modules in the clustered network storage system, the data module being one of a plurality of data modules in the clustered network storage system; sending, from the management module, a job request to the data module to request that the data module execute a job; debiting a job credit from the number of job credits in response to submitting the job request; and in response to receiving a signal, at the management module, that the job has been completed by the data module, adding a job credit to the number of job credits in the management module. |
