The method involves calibrating test fixture by a set of non-optimal calibration standards. The use of non-optimal calibration standard leads to a shift of the reference level, in terms of measured scattering parameters in the test fixture. The scattering parameters of the non-optimal calibration standard are determined. The reference plane shift in which separate correction parameters are determined is cancelled.
