PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for driving a motor, capable of improving overvoltage resistance performance while suppressing an increase in power loss.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device includes: an inverter circuit for outputting power for driving a motor by switching of a plurality of semiconductor switching elements T1-T6; drive circuits KT, KB for driving the plurality of semiconductor switching elements T1-T6; and a Zener diode ZDP for surge absorption, connected between the power potential VDC of the inverter circuit and ground potential. The inverter circuit, the drive circuits KT, KB and the Zener diode ZDP are resin-sealed to configure one package. By heat generation of the Zener diode ZDP, the temperature of the inverter circuit and the drive circuit rises together with the Zener diode ZDP.
