<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus that can prevent the occurrence of curls and wrinkles of recording materials while suppressing a reduction in energy-saving performance.SOLUTION: There is provided a fixing device including heating means 56 having a plurality of heating areas divided in a direction orthogonal to a recording material conveyance direction, and heating control means 37 capable of controlling the temperature of a fixing member individually for each of the heating areas of the heating means 56. When divided images are present on a recording material in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording material and are separated from each other by a preset length, a part of the heating areas are set as a uniform heating zone, which is to be uniformly heated to a predetermined temperature with respect to the entire width orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the recording material.</p> |
