PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system including a self-arithmetic function.SOLUTION: An arithmetic control device of an embodiment controls an operation using a memory chip that includes: a memory cell array including a plurality of memory cells; and a controller controlling access to the memory cell array. The arithmetic control device may include: first writing means that requests the controller to write a first value in a second cell adjacent to the first cell in the memory cell array; and first reading means that requests the controller to read the second value from the first cell after the first value is written in the second cell.
