PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of energy required for driving a cooling pump, while maintaining high generation efficiency of fuel cells.SOLUTION: A cooling pump 32 of a fuel cell system A is driven by one or both of a turbine 32t arranged in a cathode off-gas passage 24, and an electric motor 32m for driving the cooling pump. The fuel cell system A also includes a fuel cell bypass passage 27 detouring the fuel cell 1, and a fuel cell bypass control valve 28 for controlling the amount of oxidant gas flowing through the fuel cell bypass passage. When generating power from the fuel cell, the fuel cell bypass control valve is controlled so that the total amount of oxidant gas from a compressor 23 is fed to the fuel cell, and the target value of the amount of cooling water fed by the electric motor is set by subtracting the amount of cooling water fed by the turbine from the target amount of cooling water. |
