<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately segment and display an important subject portion from an input motion picture.SOLUTION: A region for each subject is segmented from each of frames of an input motion picture and a subject motion picture 320 is generated (b). For each subject motion picture, feature framesα,βandγeach indicating a change in a motion of each subject are detected (c), an important phase 330 including the feature frames is detected (d) and segmentation phases 330 and 340 including the important phase are set (f). At such a time, if the important phases are overlapped in a plurality of subject motion pictures, the segmentation phase is selected from each of the overlapped important phases. The segmentation phases in all the subject motion pictures are then connected in accordance with frame numbers of input motion pictures, thereby generating an edited motion picture. By displaying the edited motion picture, an important motion or state of each subject can be surely displayed.</p> |
