<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion resin having a small amount of residual monomers in the pigment dispersion resin, and showing good pigment dispersibility for various kinds of pigments and storage stability or the like of an ink, without carrying out a special process of removing residual monomers, and a water-based printing ink using the pigment dispersion resin.SOLUTION: An ink is prepared by using the following pigment dispersion resin for a water-based printing ink. The pigment dispersion resin is prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a carboxyl group, a (meth)acrylate monomer having an aromatic group in a side chain, and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having an octanol/water distribution coefficient of 0.4 to 1.5, and has an average molecular weight of 15000 to 35000 and an acid value of 100 to 200.</p> |
