PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency call device for a vehicle capable of transmitting an emergency call useful for a control center to request the dispatch of the appropriate number of ambulances.SOLUTION: An emergency call device 1 for a vehicles is provided which comprises: an air bag ECU2 for detecting the occurrence of a vehicle accident; a passenger detection sensor 4 for detecting passengers' seating state; a transmission device 7 for transmitting an emergency call signal and the number of passengers to a control center 10 when the occurrence of a vehicle accident is detected; a determination device 5; and a calculation unit 51. The determination device 5 determines whether an ambulance service is needed to passengers' (or a passenger's) injury on the basis of a detection result by a plurality of acceleration sensors 3 (31 to 38) corresponding to seats confirmed as occupied by the passenger detection sensor 4. The calculation unit 51 calculates how many ambulances are required on the basis of an injury determination result by the determination device 5. The transmission device 7 transmits the required number of ambulances calculated by the calculation unit 51 to the control center 10.
