PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive front plate for a display device that has an excellent anti-reflection property and scratch resistance, and a manufacturing method of the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a front plate for a display device that includes: a transparent substrate; an inorganic layer that is formed directly on the transparent substrate and contains inorganic oxide, inorganic oxide nitride, or inorganic nitride; and an organic layer that is formed on the inorganic layer and has a refractive index lower than that of the inorganic layer.
