PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer for an organic electroluminescent element capable of coating without dissolving an under layer when forming an organic compound layer and suppressing increase of a drive voltage of the organic electroluminescent element.SOLUTION: The polymer used for forming an organic electroluminescent element having a structure in which a plurality of layers are laminated between a negative electrode and a positive electrode formed on a substrate includes a main chain skeleton having a conjugate system structure and a polyalkyleneimine structure whose degree of polymerization is equal to or more than 3. The polyalkyleneimine structure is bonded with the main chain skeleton having the conjugate system structure directly and/or through a coupling group.
