PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion resin of a water-soluble styrene-acrylic resin, which shows good pigment dispersibility for various kinds of pigments and storage stability of an ink and gives good physical properties such as water resistance and rubbing resistance to a printed matter, and a water-based printing ink using the pigment dispersion resin.SOLUTION: The present inventors have found that the above problem can be solved by using an ink using a specific pigment dispersion resin.
