<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve estimation of a blur amount of an image with simple processing not accompanied with frequency analysis when measuring a distance from an imaging apparatus to a subject on the basis of correlation information between the blur amount of an image of the subject and the distance from the imaging apparatus to the subject.SOLUTION: An edge part pixel Pe of an image generated by imaging an object being a target of distance measurement with the imaging apparatus is extracted by edge extraction means which is not illustrated. In the process for extracting the edge part pixel Pe, a luminance difference A between pixels Pe+1 and Pe-1 both of which are adjacent to an edge part pixel Pe respectively is calculated. A luminance difference B between pixels Pe+2 and Pe-2 which are second pixels on both sides of the edge part pixel Pe respectively is calculated. An expression of B/2A is determined as a blur amount. Information corresponding to a distance from the imaging apparatus to the object is generated on the basis of correlation information between the blur amount of the image and the subject distance by means which is not illustrated.</p> |
