PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a printing position on the basis of a detection result of a detected part provided in a recording medium.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises: a conveying part which conveys roll paper stored in a paper feeder; a calculation part 100a which calculates a distance between detected parts of the roll paper conveyed by the conveying part; a storage part 105 which stores first step numbers corresponding to the distance between the detected parts; a communication interface 106 which receives printing data including origin coordinates when image data for an image to be printed expand to an image buffer; a printing control part 100b which corrects the origin coordinates included in the printing data on the basis of the distance between the detected parts calculated by the calculation part 100a and the distance between the detected parts stored in the storage part 105; and a printing part which performs printing based on the printing data, on the origin coordinates corrected by the printing control part 100b.
