PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a cutter which can grasp the set state of a platen roller and detect the initial position of a movable blade while improving a layout property and achieving simplification and cost reduction.SOLUTION: A printer with a cutter comprises a fixed blade 13 integrated in a platen unit 2, and a movable blade 11 slidably integrated in a head unit 3 for cutting recording paper between itself and the fixed blade 13. The platen unit 2 is provided with a detected member 33 that is disposed at a predetermined position in the head unit 3 when the head unit 3 and the platen unit 2 are combined, engages with the movable blade 11 when the movable blade 11 slides, and moves with the movable blade 11. At the predetermined position of the head unit 3, a sensor 61 for detecting the detected member 33 and detecting whether the movable blade 11 is positioned at an initial position is provided. |
