PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which does not disturb a smooth steering operation and never generates or hardly generates a difference in a steering feeling between a turning increase and a turning return.SOLUTION: The steering device equipped with a rack and a pinion comprises: a pinion shaft having the pinion on an outer peripheral face thereof; a rack shaft having a rack to be meshed with the pinion; a rack guide that guides the rack shaft along the shaft line thereof at an opposite side of the pinion shaft of the rack shaft; an energizing member that energizes the rack guide against the rack shaft in order to press the rack against the pinion; a guide housing that houses the rack guide and the energizing member; and cushioning member that is provided between the outer peripheral face of the rack guide and the inner peripheral face of the guide housing. The cushioning member has a tubular member and an elastic member, and the elastic member is arranged on at least either one of an inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face of the tubular member. |
