摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved highly ion conductive zirconia electrolyte which keeps an inherently high oxygen ion conductivity that a conventional Scandia stabilized zirconia electrolyte (11ScSZ) has, but is arranged so that the crystalline structure of Scandia stabilized zirconia is stabilized in a cubic crystal structure and consequently, brings about a solution to the problem of occurrence of phase transition, and enables the improvement of the decrease in an output density.SOLUTION: A highly ion conductive zirconia electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cells is stabilized by a scandium oxide dissolved therein. In the zirconia electrolyte, at least one kind oxide selected from gadolinium oxide, samarium oxide and ytterbium oxide, and a cerium oxide are substituted and dissolved.
