PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous gray ink composition which realizes excellent black color tone reproduction, can provide images without granularity, and has excellent stability not causing pigment aggregation or the like.SOLUTION: An aqueous inkjet gray ink contains at least a pigment, a pigment dispersant (which is not a compound of general formula (1)), an organic solvent, water, and a compound of general formula (1).
