<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve a measurement throughput in a mass spectrometry apparatus capable of selectively performing a MSanalysis using an ion trap and a normal mass spectrometry not capturing ions in the ion trap.SOLUTION: A mass spectrum can be acquired by executing normal mass spectrometry on the same sample as that of MSn analysis or another sample during ion operation for the MSn analysis, by: cooling ions captured in an ion trap for the MSanalysis by introducing a cooling gas into the trap after performing precursor ion selection/separation operation and dissociation operation by CID on the ions; irradiating a sample 12 with laser light during execution of the cooling operation to accelerate ions generated from the sample 12; and performing mass separation on the ions, which have been accelerated and passed inside the ion trap, during flight in a space in a flight tube 31 before reaching a detector 32.</p> |
