PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of image quality due to satellite droplets or contamination of mist in a printer by preventing low-speed satellite droplets or mist from being generated when a plurality of ejection pulses generate an ink droplet.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a liquid ejection head 1 that ejects a liquid by varying a volume of a pressure chamber 22 with an actuator 50; a control part 100 that generates a drive signal for varying the volume of the pressure chamber; and an actuator driving part 109 that drives the actuator 50 with the drive signal. The drive signal includes a plurality of ejection pulses and a non-ejection pulse. The non-ejection pulse is applied at the timing at which a vibration velocity of a composite residual vibration, which is of the liquid near a nozzle 31 and generated by the plurality of ejection pulses, reaches a peak in a direction toward an inside or outside of the nozzle 31, the timing being synchronized with an intermediate time point between a fall time point and a rise time point of the non-ejection pulse. |
